I volunteered to help man our booth for the Cascade Fly group which may result in having to tie some flies. Since I have been working on my fly rod I had sort of put fly tying on hold.
I realized since the event is next week I best get my butt in gear and see if I even remember how to do it.
Much to my surprise, not only did I remember but I felt I didn’t do so badly. I tied a few midge pupa patterns in various colors on size 16 hook. And the n I decided to tie some my favorites- the brassie. I tied those in size 12,14,16 and 18.
I will try some more later this week, but not all was forgotten and I was able to use some new material that I never have used since purchased at an auction last year. It was quite relaxing and enjoyable. It used to stress me out because I wanted all the wraps to be perfect, etc….but yesterday I just played around and they turned out ok.
