The college town I live in is all a buzz. Graduation for the University of Oregon is on Monday and graduation for Lane Community College is on Sunday.
It made me ponder last night thinking about when I graduated from Lane in Hospitality and Management. I was not only a new mom, but I was also very busy with end of school events and my fairly new job in the restaurant industry. I do recall always wanting someday to open my own restaurant. It was a dream I followed from about the age of 15 till about the age of 40. Being in the restaurant industry as long as I have been in it, I don’t know if I would want the stress of having my own place unless it was a very small place. The restaurant I work in now is large and I have worked all aspects of it.
This weekend will be the busiest weekend of the year for the restaurant and many others in town as visitors come in to celebrate their children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, loves and friends. It is always fun to work, because everyone is cheerful and happy; graduates are happy because they have a whole new world to begin with their hopes, aspirations and being finished with finals!!! Parents are happy because their child has just accomplished a huge milestone in their life and no more paying for school (unless they go into graduate school). Proud cheerful people everywhere.
I DO WISH ALL 2013 GRADUATES THE VERY BEST YEARS AND DREAM BIG. HOPE BIG. FOLLOW YOUR HEART.
