After Huckleberry Lookout we took a back road to what was suppose to be Gold Lake. After about ten minutes I felt like the driver maybe was lost so I asked, but he assured me he had been on this Dead Mountain Road before. Eeek after about 30 minutes of rugged riding we hit some signs that looked familiar. We had just made a large loop back to the beginning. 🙂
We finally got back on the highway and found Gold Lake. We found a nice spot to sit and eat the lunch I packed. I then debated putting my rod together and fish but instead I just sat on the edge of the lake watching the Damsel and Dragon flies flutter about. It was simply beautiful. We drove out and went up to Waldo Lake another place I have never been before. After we were finished exploring I realize there are so many places in Oregon I have yet to explore.
What a beautiful location – and obviously peaceful!
It was so peaceful, I was wondering what it would be like to spend an evening up there.
Maybe jumpy at some strange sounds.
