Swim. The last full day of camping is always tough for me. It’s knowing the next day we pack up and head back home. It means no more exploring the Shasta region and no more laughing with all family members close by.
Somehow my rod broke this day, I am unsure how so Kate and shared one rod. We went to a part of Burney Creek they just stalked with fish earlier in the morning. I was sure today was the day Kate was going to catch one on her fly. Instead we saw many stunned fish not going for any morsel of anything.
We headed back to camp and stopped at the little store and got some delicious ice cream cones.
After lunch we headed back up the creek to see if the fish were more interested- but they weren’t. The nice thing was Kate got to see a trouts reaction to different flies coming by.
We headed back to camp so I could make wood fired pizza over the grill. I wasn’t sure how they turned out, but as everyone told me they were delicious.
After dinner we were all still warm so we made our way to the lake for a sunset swim. It was beautiful.
