RIP T.G

Today was a celebration of life for my son’s best friends father.

Jake and Cole have been best buddies since first grade.

Last weekend he was here visiting Jake from college for spring break. I immediately knew something was not quite right when I went into the room. Both boys hung their head low and Cole told me his father had died of heart attack the day before. He was 57.

Unreal! I remember how many times Mr. Gent was taking the boys fishing, camping or hunting. He was at each and every basketball game the boys played in.

Today it was evident how this young man was loved in our community. Standing room only as different people went up and recalled funny stories of him.

Cole stood in between Jake and I, I could hear laughter mixed with tears as people talked so lovingly of his father. It was nice these young boys could be supportive of one another

His father was very young, so a sober reminder of how fragile life can be.
