It has been over two decades since I have been to the tiny coastal town of Bandon. Last time I was there the mainstay of their business was the Cheese Factory and fisheries. It seemed to be a dying town.
I was pleasantly surprised to stop at the new Creamery, Face Rock, for cheese curds and what was ordered as a small ice cream cone (super large). We sat on the boardwalk to enjoy our ice cream and passing people. The dock was all fixed up with restaurants around.
But what impressed me was the art they had hanging along the boardwalk for those to enjoy. They had paintings to signify the year of the Horse. Artists ranged in age from 6-40. There was an area you could vote for your favorite and the winner would win a nominal prize. This was just a few of the pictures I took. There were probably 75 pictures hanging on the railings.
Very cool way to display art!
