Cruising along the coast line at about 20 miles per hour sounds slow, but when you are on the ship it seems fairly quick, especially when you are trying to snap pictures of all the surrounding mountains.
That was the biggest change for me on the cruise line, days at sea on previous cruise lines meant you were out in the middle of ocean with nothing in sight except perhaps an occasional cruise ship or large cargo boat.
This cruise we went up the coast line through little channels, if you looked out, you could see little islands, or mountains veering up. Sitting on the deck was amazing because it was constant scenery floating by.
The sea seemed almost like glass during the day, but that changed into the afternoon and I got a bit sea-sick.
Bon Voyage, Maryam! My sister lives in Juneau and was at an artist retreat at 27 mile on the road out of town. She says the sea is boiling with king salmon! With every cast of their lines, she says they are pulling our HUGE fish! I hope you get to go fishing while you are there, and I hope you feel better.
Well I am posting last weeks pictures. No fishing for me this time, but lots of gorgeous scenery. Hoping to fish If I get the opportunity to go again
