i have lived out here just short of a year. I stayed out here alone last year when Alan was gone to a carving in class in Washington but for some reason this year is different.
Perhaps I am not used to being alone when I am home anymore.
Last year I had my fierce guard dog Teddy (joke) and this year I have my fierce puppy Charlie who likes to chase his tail.
Anyways, after a restless night, I woke up slow and started doing minuscule chores outside. Saw many birds flying around and the most amazing was an osprey circling the back field.
Found a baby bird egg shell and hope it survived and is thriving with all the other baby birds roaming around the house.
The far back field was harvested on Friday so there have been many black birds and squirrels picking up the left overs. And then a few Hawks picking up any mice that may have lost their homes.
Charlie and I are tucked in and ready for a better evening sleep.
Definitely a fierce watchdog who appears adorable. Thanks for joining in the short story challenge as it’s been a lot of fun at this end reading all the endings.
Thanks for the challenge. It would be fun to be the lady
Nice thought sweetie. This time a great big tug in my heart for you. The carving project a daunting challenge. Guess that’s why here. With love, Alan
